Byas.no is a Norwegian site part of the Schibsted Group Media which targets a young audience and experiments with tons of new features which are later introduced to some other regional and national newspapers.

the project
I work on the platform that powers up the front pages and the articles of some of the biggest Scandinavian newspapers. Byas is one of the many Scandinavian newspapers I have worked. Byas.no is a quite experimental niche site where many new features are introduced and asses before launching them on many other regional and national newspapers.
technology used
In a few words, on the frontend we use a server side rendered React application with TypeScript and Webpack. We mainly use Node.js for developing our backend services and we keep them behind a Varnish cache layer. We deploy the newspapers in Convox and Heroku. We perform monitoring in Datadog
