a bit about me

and how I ended up being a Software Engineer

Hello! Thank you for joining me here! My name is Julio, originally from Granada, Spain, but now happily residing and working in Kraków.

Professionally, my journey began in IT as an IT Operations Analyst with HCL Poland and Stanley Black and Decker Polska. Later, I transitioned to become a Cloud Engineer at Capgemini Polska, specializing in Microsoft technologies. In 2018, I discovered my passion for web development, igniting a deep love for coding that continues to drive me. This led me to embrace a role as a FullStack Javascript Developer atSchibsted Tech Polska in 2019, where I work extensively with TypeScript, React, and Nodejs.

In April 2021, I embarked on a new adventure at Westwing, contributing to the development of micro-frontends architecture with Webpack Module Federation. Notably, I played a key role in the replatforming of the Westwing Studio site, enriching the experience for customers across Europe.

Currently, I am honored to serve as a Senior Software Engineer at Collibra, where I lead the development of a crucial web application for data analysts within the Usage Analytics team. My responsibilities span the entire software lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance.

  • Senior Software Engineer at Collibra

    - In my role within the Usage Analytics team, I lead the development efforts for a pivotal web application tailored for data analysts, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of organizational organizational usage patterns within the Collibra platform. My responsibilities encompass the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment and maintenance.
    - Notably, I spearheaded the Proof of Concept and subsequent implementation of Contract Testing within our application. This initiative not only enhanced the robustness and reliability of our software but also contributed to the seamless integration of Contract Testing methodologies into our CI/CD pipeline.

  • Senior Software Engineer at Westwing

    - As a member of the Westwing Studio Team, I led the re-platforming efforts of the site, facilitating the connection between professional designers and thousands of customers across Europe.
    - Furthermore, my contributions extend to the Core Frontend Team, where I lead the development of foundational elements for our Micro Frontends architecture. Powered by Webpack Module Federation, I have been instrumental in architecting a robust framework that facilitates runtime composition across our diverse array of packages. This innovative approach empowers our teams to deliver scalable and adaptable solutions, ensuring a cohesive and seamless user experience across the platform.

  • Software Engineer at Schibsted Tech Polska

    - As a member of the Premium Shared Team, I spearheaded the delivery of a platform powering the frontpages and articles of major Scandinavian newspapers. My role involved crafting tools for brand developers, facilitating the creation of high-performance code and simplifying the implementation of complex business logic. Through these efforts, I contributed to elevating the platform's performance and user experience, solidifying its pivotal role in the digital realm of leading newspapers.

  • Cloud Engineer at Capgemini

    - As part of the Office 365 FastTrack Team I was responsible for the preparation and migration of clients’ data to the Microsoft cloud. From the onboarding process to the actual data migration and postmigration reporting.
